Responsibilities

  • Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings established by licensing, accreditation agencies, and funding sources
  • Responsible for facilitating groups, working with clients in individual, family and couple sessions
  • Responsible for assessing, creating and implementing treatment plans with clients for person centered treatment
  • Responsible to the Program & Clinical Director of Cristo Rey Counseling Services
  • Maintain all records and reports in compliance with pertinent licensing and accrediting standards
  • Assist in providing materials/information to contribute to ongoing developing needs of the curriculums provided by the Counseling departments
  • Assist in yearly professional evaluation
  • Attend group and/or clinical supervision as assigned by the Director of Cristo Rey Counseling Services with a written plan for professional development
  • Keep up documentation in a timely and accurate manner as required by all contractual obligations and the Counseling department
  • Develop and facilitate reviews of client’s progress and ongoing treatment updates to prepare for discharge and/or transfer of services or termination
  • Maintain and attend continued professional skills development
  • Promote Cristo Rey Counseling Services philosophy through personal and professional ethics in attitude, actions, and behavior
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Counseling Services

Qualifications

  • Master Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other counseling related field
  • Possess State of Michigan Licensing and/or be in the process of attaining the necessary licensing required to provide clinical services and give a written plan to the Director of Cristo Rey Counseling Services
  • Possess the CAADC CREDENTIALS with MCBAP or have Professional Development Plan in place within 15 days of hire to obtain the credentials
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred
  • Demonstrate ability to work with individuals from multi-cultural backgrounds
  • Most demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and experience deemed appropriate for clinical privilege to work in substance abuse and mental health within the agency, and obtain continuing education hours as required by certification/licensing agencies
  • Experience and knowledge facilitating groups and working with families
  • Must be able to work independently, be adaptable to the needs of the Counseling Center, and demonstrate initiative to develop creative programming
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude, and be an excellent team player
