Development Director

Salary: $53,040.00 to $56,000.00 /year

The Development Director leads the fundraising efforts at Cristo Rey Community Center. This position will work closely with the Executive Director, Finance Manager, and Grants Coordinator to determine appropriate fundraising goals and will report on achieving those efforts. The Development Director will manage event planning and coordination, be an expert at Benevon, and have an exceptional ability to communicate passionately regarding the organization.


  • Leads all Benevon efforts for Cristo Rey Community Center
  • Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors
  • Build the planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts
  • Lead the annual fund program, including mailings and annual fundraising drives
  • Lead the capital campaigns and other major fundraising drives
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the donor database and department information
  • Manage the planning, development, and execution a public relations and marketing plan for Cristo Rey Community Center, including

– Maintenance of the organization’s website
– Oversight and maintenance of the organization’s social media accounts
– Creation of regular internal and external communications
– Various public relations events

  • Oversees all donor acknowledgement processes
  • Represent Cristo Rey Community Center as a staff member to the Development Committee of the Board of Directors
  • Any additional reasonable request deemed necessary by management


  • Enthusiastic and passionate about Cristo Rey Community Center’s mission
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Accurate and detail oriented
  • Motivated self-starter, with excellent communication skills and a high-level of integrity
  • Superb writing skills
  • Must uphold a strict level of confidentiality
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening ability

Education & Experience Request:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Database management experience: 3 years
  • Nonprofit fundraising experience: 3-5 years
  • Event planning experience: 3-5 years

  • Full salary range $53,040-$68,952 with typical new hires starting between $53,040-$56,000
