Director of Counseling Services

Cristo Rey Community Center (CRCC) is seeking a Director of Counseling Services who is as enthusiastic and passionate about CRCC’s mission as we are. The ideal candidate will:

– Administrative responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coordination, strategic planning, and day-to-day administration of the Counseling Services Department
  • Supervise and oversee all aspects of the program following Cristo Rey Community Center’s mission, demonstrated by setting program goals and objectives
  • Maintain State licensing standards and all other standards as set forth in all contractual agreements
  • Project, develop, and monitor revenues and expenses for the Counseling Services Department; work closely with the Finance Department to maintain the department’s budget
  • Implement and manage changes to ensure project goals and objectives are met for grants and special initiatives including producing accurate and timely reporting
  • Ongoing chart reviews to ensure compliance with Federal/State requirements
  • Demonstrate competency in Microsoft Office applications, customized databases, and billing software

– Clinical responsibilities

  • Manage crisis situations effectively with collaboration from the rest of the management team. Weekend/evening hours may be necessary to respond to the crisis.
  • May maintain a part-time caseload of clients, including but not limited to intakes and assessments, crisis clients, individual/group therapy
  • Remain current in continuing education and professional development
  • Uphold a strict level of confidentiality and demonstrate understanding HIPPA and 42CFR, part 2

– Supervision & training responsibilites

  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision
  • Interview and recommend hiring of Counseling Services Department staff members
  • Complete performance evaluations, scheduling, promotion and corrective action of Counseling Services Department staff
  • Ensure all licensing, continuing education, and professional standards are met by staff


– Education

  • Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field

– Licensure

  • Current independent licensure in the state of Michigan (LMSW, LPC, LP, LMFT, or LCSW) required and must be maintained
  • MCBAP credentials:

– CAADC required
– CCS preferred; must be eligible to obtain CCS within 12 months of hire
– CPS preferred


  • Five years of experience providing substance use disorder and/or mental health counseling required
  • Previous experience providing clinical supervision and administrative management preferred
  • Understanding of Women’s Specialty Services or ability to gain knowledge in this subject upon hire and maintain continuing education in the subject

  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred
