Meet the Cristo Rey Staff
The Cristo Rey Community Center staff is comprised of a diverse group of individuals with a wide range of expertise in a variety of fields. One thing we all have in common is that we care for the community and want to make a difference in people’s lives. Together, we aim to provide responsive programs and services of the highest quality to the area. Meet our staff that brings our mission to life.
In September 2013, Joseph Garcia became Executive Director of Cristo Rey Community Center. Joe was first involved with the organization in 1991 as a volunteer career counselor. Prior to becoming the Executive Director, Joe had a successful career working for F500 companies. In the area of Telecommunications, he advanced through the ranks to Division Director. When working in the public sector Joe managed two early childhood education facilities with a total of 300 enrolled students and 60 staff members. These students were the children of migrant and seasonal farm workers. During his tenure he spent considerable time in Washington and at the State Capitol, increasing awareness of the merits of early childhood education and advocating for program funding. A native of Michigan, he holds a MBA from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan. He also has dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Communications and Spanish from Western Michigan University.
