Cristo Rey Community Center would like to highlight the commitment St. Thomas Aquinas & St. John Student Center of East Lansing volunteers have put forth in our Community Kitchen.

Returning with a helpful group every Tuesday and Thursday, these volunteers provide CRCC community kitchen with both hands on and financial support.

Margaret Beahan, a CRCC board member, helped to get the parish involved. She works closely with Paul and Cindy Charette, who lead the parish, to organize volunteer groups each week. They prepare food, distribute meals and help maintain the community garden.

In addition their hard work, the parish was able to raise nearly $3,000 in spring of 2015 toward the CRCC Community Kitchen through their Mathew 25 Donation, which emphasizes the importance of providing food to those in need. They have also collectively accumulated a variety of pantry essentials such as spices, flour and napkins for CRCC through the “Stock the Pantry” program over the last two years.

Cristo Rey’s Community kitchen is able to serve warm breakfasts and sack lunches to hungry Lansing individuals because of the help and support of our donors and volunteers. Thank you for all that you do St. Thomas Aquinas & St. John Student Center of East Lansing.
